Save the Dates or Save the Money??

Save the Dates are a fun way of letting people know that you have set your date, similar to a baby arrival card. For some brides, shouting about it just won't suffice but is it really just a waste of money?

Personally I believe they are not a necessity, however, they are a lovely thing to send if the budget allows...everyone knows how good it feels to recieve something other than bills in the post!

There are also so many ways to get creative and give your guests a little insight to your special day. With new laws about taking children out of school for holidays, families are booking their getaways much further in advance. Save the Dates give your guests a heads up about your wedding and allow them time to plan, book accommodation and save money!

When should I send them?

Traditionally, save the dates are sent out between 12-8 months before your wedding and invitations to then follow approximately 6-4 month before. I know it is exciting but a lot can change in a year! Don't send them out until you have the date secured and you are sure about who you want to invite.

Do I send them to day AND evening guests?

This is optional but please bare in mind that your guests may be led to believe that they are invited to the whole day if this isn't specified. Here at Making Brides Smile, we offer "Save the Dates" AND "Save the Evening" cards so this cannot be confused.

Feeling so unbelievably proud to announce that I have made it as a finalist in the 2017 South West Wedding Awards!! Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to vote, I couldn't be more grateful. Big love...guess who's smiling now!!

Looking for something to wow your guests? Check out our new product! Our luxury, translucent envelopes filled with confetti will be sure to impress your guests and get them excited for your big day. Lots of confetti options available and can be added to any order, big or small!

Twine or wraps?

Our twine tied invites are definitely eye-catching and match perfectly with those rustic themed weddings BUT there is one thing you should consider when making your order. As a bride myself, I know how much every penny counts when planning your big day. Twine tied invites, aswell as embellished stationery you may find elsewhere, will BOOST postage costs massively! If you are hand delivering invites then this won't be an issue but if you are on a budget and need to post, then I'd be sure to go for the wraps instead. Which may I add...are just as beautiful and can be personalised too!

Highlight of my week!

Just had to share this comment from a bride to be which I recieved today. It really made my week and reminded me why I absolutely LOVE my job.

"I can't believe after months of speaking to other suppliers and getting designs less than 24 hours you have made our perfect invites!!!!"

Coloured envelope options...

As standard, all of our invites come with either brown or white envelopes. We also offer a range of coloured envelopes including these gorgeous, metallic gold envelopes you see below. Coloured envelopes are a great way to grab the attention of your guests and make your wedding stationery stand out that little bit more. For only a small added cost you can choose between a rainbow of colours and textures.

Feel free to ask us whats available...we'd love to help!

Introducing two new designs to our collection!

With such a busy year in 2016, we have had very limited time to add to our "off the shelf" design collection. Today we are very pleased to introduce two new designs...'Bella' and 'Emily'. These designs are extra special as they are very simple yet super versatile. 'Emily' can be made up in ANY colour combination and 'Bella' is also available in brights! We hope you love them as much as we do.

Never in my life have I felt soooo proud!!

Oh my goodness...for once I am utterly speechless. I have only gone and WON in my catagory at the 2017, South West Wedding Awards. I am totally blown away by all of the votes and comments that I received and cannot thank you enough. In just 12 short months, I have grown so much as a person with this business and it really is an honour to now call myself 'award-winning'.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 2017...let's smash this! We have lot's of exciting things coming your way...

My first magazine feature!

Yay! I am so happy to have been featured in the 2017 edition of Bride magazine. Joanne and Joseph married at The Mill House in Cornwall and opted for a rustic theme with so many beautiful personal touches. It was an absolute pleasure to make your wedding stationery Mr and Mrs Davis and I wish you all the best for the future.

Seriously, how is it November already?! It's making me wonder if I should start some Christmas shopping...I can't be the only one who hasn't? It's been the craziest year ever and I can only apologise for my lack of blogging on here but hopefully you follow me on facebook and have been able to see what I've been up to. Not only have I been super busy in the stationery world, I've been planning my own wedding and the big day finally came on October 21st. We had the best wedding day ever and was worth every hour and penny it took to plan. Even Storm Brian couldn't dampen the atmosphere or take the smile off my face. I'm going to do a full post when I have more of our AMAZING photographs from the lovely Emma @ Freckle Photography and share more about all of our awesome suppliers etc. But for now, here's a little sneak peak...

Molly & Darren Thank You image-1 finalist 2017[2803]

Feeling so loved.

Well, what can I've done it again! I am absolutely blown away by the love and support of all my clients who took the time out of their busy lives to vote for me for these two amazing awards. I'M A FINALIST!

Well actually, the Simply Wedding Awards have now passed and I am so proud to announce that I took home the 'Judges Choice' award. What an honour! Roll on the South West Wedding Awards in January, I am keeping everything crossed to keep the title of 'Best Stationer' but BOYYYYY the competition is tough this year. There are some AMAZING finalists so I am truely grateful to have gotten this far. Thank you all again. I'll be sure to keep you updated. Lots of love, Molly. x

To all of my 2017 couples...

As the year comes to a close, I'd like to say THANK YOU! Thank you for supporting my little business and teaching me that dreams can come true. When I started this business in 2016, I never thought I'd of come this far. I can now call myself award winning and it's all because of you. I wish you all the best for 2018 and hope you have a year full of love, health and happiness. Happy New Year!
